(August 13, 2022) - NOAA announced on Friday, August 12, 2022, the agency is halting the COVID-19 Screening Program effective immediately. Employees will no longer attest their COVID status on a weekly basis nor will employees be required to furnish test results in offices in a COVID-19 MEDIUM or HIGH community level.
This announcement to stop testing was at the direction of the Office of Management and Budget in response to the new guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
NOAA employees who were required to participate in this program were informed on Friday, August 12, 2022.
This change, however, does not impact COVID-19 screening testing for operational settings that are not based upon vaccination status, such as testing required by NOAA’s Office of Marine and Aviation Operations (OMAO) related to Ship or Aircraft operations.
