NWSEO Membership Benefits & Opportunities


The NWSEO works hard to improve working conditions and the quality of NWS, AOC, AOML, NESDIS and services of the NOAA Attorney's Guild.  Members are afforded assistance whenever employment issues arise. In addition, members are kept informed of significant events affecting employees through the NWSEO publication “The Four Winds” which members receive. Enrollment Incentives & Rewards


NWSEO offers a New Hire enrollment incentive. Any newly hired employee (NWS, NESDIS, AOC, AOML, NAG new hires) who joins NWSEO by Form 1187 within twelve months of their start date, or during a New Employee course or its equivalent, will receive a $300 Visa Gift Card. 


Any NWSEO Member who recruits a fellow nonmember to join NWSEO by Form 1187, will receive a $50 Gift Card. The New Member will receive $150 Visa gift card. 


Any NWSEO member who recruits two (2) or more new members to join NWSEO using the 1187 form for payroll deduction (not by credit card) from now through July 31, 2022 will receive a paid trip to the 47th Annual NWSEO National Convention in New Orleans, LA scheduled for November 6 - 8, 2022.  NWSEO will provide reasonable airfare, 3 nights lodging, and approved group meals.

NWSEO Benefits

In 2009, NWSEO/NWS negotiated the National Weather Service Health Club and Wellness Services Fees Reimbursement Program. Through the program, which is open to all NWS employees, individuals may receive up to $300 per year as a health club membership dues rebate. The rebate also covers certain weight loss and smoking cessation programs. In order to be eligible for the programs, it is important that the correct forms are submitted to your supervisor before the due dates.
